Belonging
Hi, how is 2023 treating you so far?
I hope you are settling into the new year and taking time to sloooow down after the holidays. I am right there with you carving out time for myself to check in about my expectations for the upcoming year and really notice what goals and projects I am feeling called towards. I have struggled in the past to set realistic goals and rushed into a lot of new ideas and endeavors without finding clarity around the project first. This year I am hoping a slower entry and mindfulness practices around the new year will help me to stay grounded.
I am playing around with the idea of having a word for 2023 to center my goals around. I haven’t ever had a word for the year and am excited to see how it changes the way I look at my resolutions. My word for 2023 is
Belonging
Belonging to myself
Belonging to my body
Belonging in my practice, business, family, home, etc.
I want to extend this idea to you. May you find belonging in your body and in yourself this year. I hope every time you step into your yoga practice you can find space to give yourself belonging- no need to change or alter yourself in any way- just settle and find your way home to yourself. My intentions in class as a teacher is to create as many spaces where you can carve out your own practice, be unique, feel into your own wants and needs, and listen to your body. To me, this is the ultimate form of finding belonging and sending the message to yourself and your body that it is safe to be WHOLEY you.
Do you have a word or intention for 2023? I would love to hear about it! And I hope you can find ease during these first few weeks of the year.
